Henry Joseph Langdon, the Company’s Founder, born on 14th October.
1851-1852
The Victorian Gold Rush Starts. H.J Langdon arrives in Melbourne and commences business.
1863
U.S Civil War begins. First Melbourne Cup Horse Race is held.
1890
Property recession, banks crash. The Federation Drought.
1898
H.J Langdon passes away after 46 years with the company.
1901
Federation of Australia. Company celebrates 50 years.

1924
1st radio broadcast by ABC.
1927
Secured Australian agency for Aspirin. Opening of Parliament House in Canberra as the nation’s capital.
1929
Great Depression.
1939-1945
WW2.
1952
Secured Australian agency for bulk penicillin & became the sole importer of aluminium foil caps for milk bottles.
1955
Secured the agency for cellophane.
1961
Vietnam War begins. Adelaide office opened.
1972
Langdon’s silicone used in the Sydney Opera House.
1993-1994
Brisbane office opened. Acquisition of Stewart Foods and Food Blenders.
1996-1998
Opened Auckland branch. Acquisition of Waters Trading from Burns Philip.
2001
Acquisition of Lee McKeands importing division.
2002
150 year anniversary.
2005
Opened state of the art food facility in Derrimut, Victoria.
2007
Acquisition of Bakery Craft. The Global Financial Crisis begins.
2008
Opened the Singapore branch. Moved herb and spice factory from Sydney to Melbourne.
2009
Acquired Hulscher Ingredients and Erie blends in Brisbane. Catastrophic Victorian Bushfires.
2011
Acquired Nikken natural extracts agency.
2012
Opened Bangkok branch. Celebrated 160 years.
2016
Opened Kuala Lumpur branch.

Acquisition of Champagne Foods Ltd, renamed Langdon Ingredients U.K branch.

Opened South African branch.
